Church in Tbilisi
I made it to church in a taxi and was welcomed by very friendly people. I arrived at 11 am and was surprised that the service carried on until 3 in the afternoon, with footwashing and communion and what seemed like 3 sermons. After church Thea invited me for dinner at the house of some other people. They were generous as can be, serving the most delicious yoghurt soup and some other dishes. These people really know how to cook! After eating we played the piano and sang. The people living there are musicians with such great talent and heart for music. The lady of the house played one of Chopins nocturnes with the greatest precision and feeling. The man used to play in the opera but was fired by the new government because they want younger performers. The wife was a music teacher in school but also fired by the new government...
